Nasarawa NIPR Urges Responsible Use of Social Media, Commends Gov. Sule For Prudent Resources Management

The Nasarawa State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has called on social media users across the state to use their platforms responsibly by promoting positive activities and showcasing the state’s abundant endowments.

This charge was delivered by the Chapter Chairman, Compt. Joseph Attah (Rtd.), during the institute’s end-of-the-year congress held in Lafia.

According to statement issued by  Mallam Shuaibu Usman Muhammad, ANIPR
Media Assistant to the Chairman of the NIPR said, Attah noted that responsible digital engagement is vital for sustaining peaceful coexistence and supporting efforts geared toward community security. He emphasized that the spread of accurate and constructive information online would further enhance the state’s image and development drive.

The Chairman also commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for what he described as a transformational leadership style that has continued to foster inclusive development in Nasarawa State. According to him, the Governor’s high performance and positive public perception have created an enabling atmosphere for the NIPR to strengthen mutual trust between the government and citizens.

Reflecting on the chapter’s activities in the outgoing year, Attah highlighted notable achievements, including the establishment of a strategically located Secretariat along Jos Road, Lafia, and the successful hosting of several Public Relations Clinics aimed at improving members’ professional competence. He added that the chapter also enhanced the welfare of its members through various social support initiatives.

To further reinforce professional bonds, he announced that the NIPR 2025 Get-Together will hold on December 12, 2025.

The congress was attended by the Vice Chairman, Mukhtar Wakeel, and other members of the Executive Committee of the Nasarawa State Chapter.
