A former Commissioner of Information in Plateau and Nasarawa States, former Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), and immediate past Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Yahaya Bello, has thrown his weight behind Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu as the preferred All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the 2027 gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State.

In an exclusive interaction with Nasarawa Eye, Bello emphasized that Senator Wadada stands out among all known APC aspirants due to his broad-based grassroots appeal. According to him, the senator’s ability to connect with people across ethnic and religious divides places him in a unique position to secure the party’s ticket and win the governorship election.

Bello praised Wadada’s political trajectory, describing him as a “unifying figure” whose influence stretches beyond party lines. He further asserted that the senator’s accessibility, philanthropic gestures, and history of community engagement have endeared him to a wide spectrum of supporters across the state.

“Among all the aspirants currently showing interest under the APC platform, Senator Ahmed Wadada is the only one with widespread grassroots support cutting across tribes and religion,” Bello stated, calling on party stakeholders to rally behind a candidate he believes has the capacity to deliver electoral victory.
