Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has led a high-powered delegation of friends, associates, and stakeholders of the Keffi Polo community to Kano to express gratitude to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, for honouring the 10th Anniversary of the Keffi Polo Ranch and the Polo Tournament for Education.

The appreciation visit, which followed shortly after the successful anniversary celebrations, was described as a gesture of respect to the Emir, whose presence at the grand finale added prestige and national significance to the event. The Emir joined a distinguished gathering of traditional rulers, captains of industry, sports enthusiasts, and dignitaries who converged on the Keffi Polo Ranch for the week-long celebration.

Senator Wadada, founder of the Keffi Polo Ranch and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, said the Emir’s attendance underscored the long-standing cultural ties between Nasarawa and Kano, while reinforcing social and developmental cooperation across northern Nigeria.

He highlighted that the Polo Tournament for Education—an initiative he has championed—is aimed at using sport to raise awareness and support for educational development, especially for vulnerable children. According to him, the Emir’s participation elevated the tournament’s profile and reaffirmed the vital role of traditional institutions in promoting unity, sportsmanship, and philanthropy.

During the courtesy visit, the delegation thanked the Emir for his consistent support and commitment to national cohesion. In his remarks, Emir Bayero commended the Keffi Polo Ranch for its decade-long contribution to sports development, community empowerment, and educational advancement.

Over the past ten years, the Keffi Polo Ranch has grown into one of Nigeria’s rising polo destinations, attracting renowned teams and enthusiasts nationwide. Its annual Tournament for Education has continued to spark critical conversations on improving access to quality education in underserved communities.

Senator Wadada assured that the ranch would continue to deploy polo as a tool for charity, community building, and youth empowerment.
