The long-awaited transformation of the Abuja–Karu corridor took a major step forward on Friday as Hon. Ibrahim Hamza commended Governor Abdullahi A. Sule for initiating the construction of twin flyover bridges in Mararaba, describing the project as a landmark intervention in Nasarawa State’s infrastructural development.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nasarawa Eye during the groundbreaking ceremony, Hamza praised the governor’s unwavering commitment to long-term solutions that address the  persistent traffic gridlock and its effects on daily economic activities along that corridor.

For years, commuters along the Karu–Abuja axis have endured heavy congestion, lost productivity, and mounting transportation costs. According to Hamza, the new flyovers expected to significantly ease movement in and out of the nation’s capital are a testament to Governor Sule’s forward-thinking leadership.

“Governor Sule has once again proven his dedication to delivering projects that directly improve the lives of our people,” Hamza said at the event. “His decision to embark on the flyover project is both timely and transformative. It will bring relief to commuters, reduce traffic pressure, and create new economic opportunities for residents and traders.”

The twin flyover bridges, considered one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in the state’s recent history, are also expected to enhance commercial activities in Mararaba, a bustling gateway community that has long struggled with overpopulation and road congestion.

Hamza noted that Governor Sule’s infrastructural agenda is gradually reshaping the socio-economic landscape of Nasarawa State, setting a precedent for strategic development rooted in sustainability rather than quick fixes.

As construction begins, Hon. Hamza expressed the optimism that residents and commuters would see the project as a long-awaited response to the demands of a rapidly growing population. The flyovers are projected to not only improve transportation but also boost investor confidence in the corridor.
