Governor Sule Receives Sahad Hospital Delegation, Eyes Partnership on Proposed Medical University

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, on Tuesday received a delegation from Sahad Hospital Abuja at the Government House, Lafia, as discussions opened on a potential partnership aimed at expanding medical education and healthcare delivery in the state.

The delegation, led by Dr. Shamsuddeen Ahmed Aliyu, the Executive Vice Chairman in charge of Healthcare Operations at Sahad Hospital, visited the Governor to seek collaboration with the state government and formally request land for the establishment of a University of Medical Sciences in Nasarawa State.

Dr. Aliyu said the proposed institution would not only enhance access to quality medical education but also boost healthcare services, research, and job creation. He noted that Nasarawa State’s strategic location and growing population make it a suitable site for such a significant project.

Governor Sule welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely opportunity that aligns with his administration’s commitment to improving the healthcare sector and expanding educational infrastructure. He assured the delegation that the state would carefully assess the proposal and explore ways to support the development.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, marks an important step toward what could become one of the private landmark investments in medical education and health sector advancement in Nasarawa state.
