Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada has congratulated the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Traditional Council, His Royal Highness Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (rtd.), on his unveiling as the Chairman of the Steering Committee for the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) Scholarship Programme.
The announcement of the Emir’s appointment was made in Lagos during the launch of the ₦100 billion ADF Education Support Initiative, a major national scheme expected to benefit more than 1.3 million students across Nigeria over the next ten years.
In a statement, Senator Wadada described the Emir’s selection as a “well-deserved national recognition”, noting that it reflects his integrity, leadership qualities, and long-standing commitment to human capital development. The Senator expressed pride that Nasarawa State would be represented at the helm of a programme of such scale and national importance.
Wadada also highlighted the presence of several top dignitaries from the state at the Lagos unveiling, including the Andoma of Doma, HRH Alhaji Aliyu Ahmadu Oga Onawo, and the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, which he said demonstrated the unity and progressive spirit of the state.
The Senator expressed confidence in the Emir’s capacity to lead the Steering Committee with transparency and accountability, ensuring that the scholarship funds reach the communities they are intended to support.
On behalf of his family and constituents in the Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Wadada extended his warmest wishes to the Emir, praying for wisdom and success as he assumes his new national role.
