Wadada Calls for Unity as Nine Wards  In Lafia LG Endorse His Candidature

Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has reaffirmed his commitment to people-centered leadership, peace, and continuity in governance as leaders and stakeholders from nine wards in Lafia Local Government Area formally endorsed the Wadada Project ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the commissioning of a strategic political office at Unguwar Rere, Lafia, Senator Wadada described leadership as a sacred trust that must consistently deliver tangible benefits to the grassroots. He stressed that sustainable development can only be achieved through continuity, unity, and respect for existing developmental foundations.

“Leadership must build, not destroy. Progress thrives when we consolidate on what works and place the people at the center of governance,” Senator Wadada said, pledging to sustain policies that promote economic opportunity, social stability, and inclusive growth across Nasarawa State.

The event, held at Unguwar Rere—widely regarded as the political and geographical hub of Lafia—drew leaders from Akurba, Ashege, Arkiya, Agyaragun Tofa, Shabu/Kwandare, Adogi, Kaffin Wambai, Wakwa, and Assakio wards. Their collective presence underscored what many observers described as a rare show of unity in the local political space.

Senator Wadada also used the occasion to call for peace and tolerance among communities, noting that development cannot flourish in an atmosphere of division. He urged residents to embrace coexistence as the cornerstone of progress and appealed for support for what he termed the Wadada Hearts Agenda—a compassionate, inclusive, and responsive framework for grassroots governance.

Earlier, speaking on behalf of the forum of ward leaders, Mallam Ibrahim Lako Adogi said the endorsement followed extensive consultations and a careful review of Senator Wadada’s political track record. According to him, the senator’s accessibility, consistency, and commitment to grassroots engagement earned him the confidence of the people.

“This decision is about our collective future,” Adogi stated. “The unity of these nine wards reflects a new political consciousness—one driven by stability, continuity, and shared progress rather than sectional interests.”

For many stakeholders present, the endorsement went beyond routine political support. It symbolized a shift toward issue-based politics, where performance, trust, and inclusiveness outweigh rhetoric. The forum described the Wadada Project as a platform of hope and resolved that the nine wards would speak with one voice in 2027 in support of purposeful leadership and sustainable development.

Political observers across Lafia and Nasarawa State view the development as a significant signal ahead of the next election cycle. Beyond the numerical strength of the nine wards, the alliance reflects a growing public demand for leadership that prioritizes unity, preserves peace, and delivers meaningful progress.

As political momentum steadily builds, the Lafia endorsement reinforces a broader message resonating across the state: that the future of Nasarawa belongs to leaders who can inspire trust, sustain continuity, and place the welfare of the people at the heart of governance.
