They plan but Allah is the best planner:
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has imposed a ban restricting Nigerians from obtaining visas to enter the United States.
This development did not happen in isolation. In recent times, some individuals and groups bent on destabilizing Nigeria hid behind religion and deliberately spread false narratives, claiming that Christians are facing genocide in Nigeria because of religious differences. These allegations were amplified internationally without proper verification.
As a result, Nigeria was placed on the United States’ list of Countries of Particular Concern (CPC)—a designation used for countries accused of violating human rights and restricting religious freedom. This classification provides grounds for sanctions, diplomatic pressure, and economic consequences.
Now, the outcome is clear. The visa restriction imposed by Donald Trump makes no distinction between Muslims and Christians. It affects all Nigerians, regardless of faith. Every Nigerian—Muslim or Christian—now bears the burden of this decision.
This is a clear lesson: when falsehood, exaggeration, and malicious propaganda are promoted for selfish or political reasons, the damage does not stop at the intended target—it spreads to the entire nation.
Ironically, statistics show that nearly 80% of Nigerians who travel to the United States are Christians, meaning that those who loudly promoted these claims are among those most affected by the consequences.
This is why wisdom teaches us that whoever digs a pit of evil may end up falling into it himself.
As for me, I am not surprised by this development. It is the natural result of misinformation and bad intentions taken too far.
May Allah protect Nigeria, grant our nation peace, wisdom, unity, and stability, and save us from the harm of falsehood and division. Āmīn
