APC Releases Timetable for 2025/2026 Congresses and National Convention


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official timetable and schedule of activities for its 2025/2026 nationwide congresses, covering ward, local government, state, zonal levels, and the party’s national convention.
The schedule, issued by the APC National Secretariat at Buhari House, Wuse II, Abuja, is in line with the provisions of Article 11 (sub-sections i–xiii) and Article 17(i) of the party’s constitution. It outlines the processes for electing party officials across the various tiers of the party structure.
According to the timetable, activities at the ward and local government area (LGA) levels will commence with membership e-registration, scheduled to run from Monday, December 1, 2025, to Friday, January 30, 2026. This will be followed by formal notice of congresses to state and FCT chapters on Monday, February 2, 2026.
The purchase and submission of forms for ward and LGA congresses will take place from Wednesday, February 4, to Monday, February 9, 2026. Screening and appeals committees will be inaugurated on Tuesday, February 10, while screening of aspirants for ward and LGA party positions is slated for February 11 to 13, 2026.
Ward congresses will hold on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with appeals arising from the ward congresses scheduled for Wednesday, February 18. LGA congresses, including the election of three delegates—one of whom must be female—to the national convention, will take place on Thursday, February 19, followed by appeals on Friday, February 20. The ward and LGA congress process will be concluded on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
At the state, zonal and national levels, activities will begin with the purchase of forms for state executive positions from Monday, February 23, to Friday, February 27, 2026. The inauguration of screening and screening appeal committees for state executives is fixed for Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Screening of aspirants for state executive positions will run from Monday, March 2, to Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with appeals arising from the screening scheduled for March 5 and 6. State congresses will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, while appeals from the state congresses will be entertained from Monday, March 9, to Wednesday, March 11.
The purchase and submission of forms for zonal congresses and the national convention will take place from Thursday, March 12, to Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Screening committees for zonal congresses and the national convention will be inaugurated on Wednesday, March 18, with screening of aspirants scheduled for March 19 and 20.
Zonal congresses will hold across the six geopolitical zones on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The designated venues include Ibadan for the South West, Enugu for the South East, Rivers/Cross River for the South South, Kaduna for the North West, Gombe/Bauchi for the North East, and Nasarawa for the North Central.
The APC National Convention is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2026, while appeals arising from the zonal congresses will be handled from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The timetable was signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, PhD, BL, who reaffirmed the party’s commitment to conducting transparent, inclusive, and constitutionally compliant congresses nationwide.
