Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Dr Danladi Jatau, has urged Christians and other Nigerians to continue to show love to one another and embrace peace and unity for the overall development of the Country.
The Speaker made the call today in his Christmas Message during Church Service at ECWA GoodNews Garaku, Kokona LGA.
Dr. Jatau also called on Christians and other Nigerians to provide succour to the less privileged ones in the society to better their standard of living.
The Speaker said that Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, adding that it is a period of gratitude, prayer, and renewal of faith as well as a period of celebrating love with one another.
” On behalf of the Nasarawa State Government and Nasarawa State House of Assembly, I bring you greetings and I congratulate you on the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ/ Christmas.
” Christmas is a period for us to show ourselves love, affection and give to the needy in the society. Let’s share with others, especially the less privileged ones with what we have.
” This will not only give them sense of belonging but would also improve on their standard of living” he said.
The Speaker donated 1000 US dollars equivalent to N1, 460,000 for the development of the church.
” What I am doing, I am doing it for the sake of God as my reward will come from Heaven.
” I will continue to appreciate God. When you are with God, you don’t need to be panic.
” I will donate 1000 US dollars for the development of the Church and by God’s grace, I will continue to do more,” he said.
Dr Jatau called on the people of Kokona LGA and the State at large to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed.
” His Excellency, Engr. A A Sule has done a lot for the development of Kokona LGA and the State at large.
“He has zeal and passion for development, let’s all continue to support him to succeed.
” And this is to enable our people continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy,” he added.
The Speaker also urged the people of the State to continue to live in unity, peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
He added that no nation would achieve speedy development without peace and called on religion leaders to continue to pray for other leaders at all levels to succeed.
Earlier, Rev. Bitrus Kaya, Reverend in-charge of ECWA GoodNews, Garaku while taking his reading from John 3: 16, has urged Christians to continue to show love to one another in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
He said that John 3:16 said For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
” As Christ loves us, we should also love one another.
” We are here to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, the Jesus Christ. The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ has brought us together irrespective of our affiliations,” he said.
He also urged Christians to give to the needy for more God’s blessings and favours.
” This is the season of giving, I want to beg you, please give to the needy in order to get reward from God.
The clergy also urged Christians to embrace forgiveness and shun sinful acts in order to enter the kingdom of God.
It would be reported that the clergy prayed for God’s protection, blessings and favours and to the Speaker, his family, leaders at all levels and other Nigerians.
In a related development, the Speaker paid Christmas homage on Abaga Toni, HRH, Lawrence Ayih to receive his royal blessings and to celebrate Christmas with him.
The First Class Traditional Ruler prayed God to bless the Speaker abundantly.
