The ancient town of Nyankpa came alive with colour, culture, and celebration as dignitaries from across the state gathered to mark the Royal Silver Jubilee of His Royal Highness, Barr. Joel S. Aninge, PhD, MFR, the Odyong Nyankpa of Nyankpa Chiefdom. The milestone event commemorated 25 years of a reign widely regarded as purposeful, peaceful, and transformational.

Among the prominent guests was Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, who joined royal fathers, traditional rulers, community leaders, and well-wishers to honour the revered monarch and celebrate a quarter-century of steadfast leadership. The atmosphere reflected both festivity and deep appreciation for a reign that has left a lasting imprint on the Nyankpa Nation.

Speaking at the historic ceremony, Senator Wadada described HRH Barr. Joel S. Aninge as an exceptional custodian of tradition, whose leadership has been marked by wisdom, humility, and an unwavering commitment to peace and unity. He noted that the monarch’s 25-year reign has significantly strengthened traditional institutions, promoted harmony among communities, and safeguarded the rich cultural heritage of the Nyankpa people.

The Senator particularly highlighted the monarch’s unique blend of intellectual depth and traditional authority, describing him as a rare royal figure whose background as a distinguished legal practitioner has brought fairness, justice, and progressive thinking to the throne.

According to him, the Odyong Nyankpa’s reign stands as a model of how traditional leadership can align seamlessly with modern governance to drive development and social cohesion.

Senator Wadada also offered heartfelt prayers for the monarch, wishing him continued good health, long life, and divine wisdom as he continues to serve his people.

He urged the sons and daughters of Nyankpa Chiefdom to uphold and build upon the enduring legacy of peace, unity, and progress established under the leadership of HRH Barr. Joel S. Aninge.
