In a strategic move aimed at consolidating its organisational strength ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Dynamic Women for Tinubu 2027 Forum has appointed Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu as Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT). The appointment signals a new phase of leadership for the Forum as it intensifies efforts to mobilise women across Northern Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
The decision, according to the Forum, was reached unanimously by its leadership after careful consideration of Senator Wadada’s political experience, leadership capacity, and longstanding commitment to national development. Members of the Forum described him as a bridge-builder whose political journey reflects discipline, integrity, and dedication to democratic ideals—qualities they believe are essential for guiding the organisation through the evolving political landscape ahead of 2027.
Drawing its membership from the 19 Northern states and the FCT, the Dynamic Women for Tinubu 2027 Forum has positioned itself as a grassroots-driven platform focused on amplifying women’s voices in governance and political participation. The Forum sees Senator Wadada’s appointment as a timely boost that will strengthen its internal structures while providing strategic direction for its advocacy and mobilisation programmes.
In a statement accompanying the appointment, the Forum noted that Senator Wadada’s “wealth of knowledge and vast experience” would be instrumental in shaping policies, offering guidance, and ensuring cohesion within the organisation. His role as BoT Chairman is expected to include mentoring emerging women leaders, advising on strategic engagements, and supporting initiatives that align with national development priorities.
The formal letter of appointment was presented to Senator Wadada by the National Coordinator of the Forum, Ambassador Dorcas Peter Azi. During the presentation, Ambassador Azi praised the Senator’s readiness to serve and highlighted his consistent contributions to democratic growth, both within and outside elective office. She expressed confidence that his leadership would further energise the Forum’s activities across the North, deepen women’s political consciousness, and enhance coordinated support for the Tinubu administration’s policy direction.
“The Dynamic Women for Tinubu 2027 Forum believes that strong leadership is central to effective mobilisation,” Ambassador Azi noted. “With Senator Wadada as Chairman of our Board of Trustees, we are confident that the Forum will be better positioned to deliver on its mandate of empowering women as active stakeholders in national politics.”
In his response, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and described the appointment as both an honour and a responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to providing the guidance, wisdom, and support required to advance the Forum’s objectives, not just toward the 2027 elections but in fostering sustained women participation in governance beyond the electoral cycle.
He further emphasised the importance of inclusive political engagement, noting that women remain a critical force in shaping Nigeria’s democratic future. According to him, platforms such as the Dynamic Women for Tinubu 2027 Forum play a vital role in ensuring that women are not only mobilised during elections but are actively involved in policy advocacy and nation-building.
As preparations for 2027 gradually take shape, the appointment of Senator Wadada as BoT Chairman underscores the Forum’s resolve to combine experience with grassroots energy. For the Dynamic Women for Tinubu 2027 Forum, the move represents more than a leadership change—it reflects a broader ambition to strengthen women-led political mobilisation and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s democratic journey.
