A milestones start to feel different. They’re no longer just about adding another candle to the cake; they’re about pausing to take stock of the journey so far. That’s why the forty-fifth birthday of CP Usman Musa Shugaba, Chief Personal Security Officer to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, deserves more than a passing mention.
This moment is as much about service as it is about celebration.
CP Shugaba represents the kind of public servant many Nigerians hope to see more of—disciplined, professional, and quietly effective. As an illustrious son of Kaduna State, his rise reflects not only personal commitment but also the depth of talent he continues to offer the nation. From state assignments to sensitive national responsibilities, his career tells a consistent story: dedication to duty and an unwavering focus on peace and security.
What stands out most is how he has carried Kaduna State with him wherever he serves. In many ways, he has become an ambassador of his home state and all states that he has served, including Nasarawa state where has has and still impacting the lives of many. CP Usman Shugaba is showing through action that excellence and integrity can—and should—define public service. His work contributes not just to security operations but to the broader confidence Nigerians place in institutions meant to protect them.
It is also important to acknowledge the trust placed in him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Appointing someone to such a strategic and sensitive role is no small decision. That confidence speaks volumes about CP Shugaba’s professionalism and reliability, and it reinforces the idea that merit still matters at the highest levels of responsibility.
As CP Usman Musa Shugaba marks 45 years, the occasion invites both gratitude and optimism—gratitude for years of disciplined service, and optimism for the impact still to come. One can only wish him continued good health, peace of mind, personal fulfillment, and many more years of meaningful contribution to Nigeria.
While some police careers are loud. Others are simply solid. CP Shugaba’s carrier belongs firmly in the latter category—and that, perhaps, is what makes it truly admirable to both the young and the old, the rich and the poor.
