Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu has paid a condolence visit to the palace of the Andoma of Doma, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Ogah Onawo, following the death of Umar Onawo Ogah.
During the visit, the senator expressed deep sorrow over the loss and sympathised with the monarch, the bereaved family, and members of the Doma Traditional Council. He offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest. Senator Wadada also prayed for strength, patience, and comfort for the family and the entire Doma community during the period of mourning.
The senator reminded those present of the inevitability of death and the lessons it holds for the living. He explained that Allah has provided humanity with two important reminders: one that speaks and one that remains silent. According to him, the speaking reminder is the Holy Qur’an, while the silent reminder is death, both of which call believers to reflection, righteousness, and a return to Allah.
He urged the people to see moments of grief as opportunities for sober reflection, encouraging them to uphold moral values, strengthen their faith, and remain steadfast in obedience to Allah.
In his response, the Andoma of Doma thanked Senator Wadada Aliyu for the condolence visit, prayers, and words of wisdom. He described the gesture as a demonstration of respect, compassion, and solidarity at a difficult time for the royal family and the people of Doma.
