A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, has called on party members and Nigerians at large to remain focused on development and avoid distractions capable of breeding rancour.
Wadada made the call on Tuesday during a visit to the APC state secretariat in Lafia, Nasarawa State. According to him, meaningful development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of provocation and hostility.
“We should not allow ourselves to be distracted. Development cannot happen in an atmosphere of rancour. We should not respond to any act of provocation. We know where we are coming from and we know where we are going,” he said.
During the visit, the senator donated the sum of ₦20 million and 27,000 copies of e-Registration forms to the party in support of its ongoing drive for electronic registration of party members. He described the e-registration exercise as a crucial step toward strengthening the party’s structure and deepening internal democracy.
Wadada also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as the “giant strides” being taken to revamp the nation’s economy, expressing confidence that the administration’s policies would yield positive results in the long run.
In the same vein, he praised Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for his efforts at improving security across the state, noting that peace and safety remain critical to sustainable development.
Responding, the Chairman of the APC in Nasarawa State, Dr. Aliyu Bello, expressed appreciation to Wadada for the generous donation and continued support for the party.
Dr. Bello assured that the funds would be judiciously utilized strictly for the purpose for which they were donated, particularly to ensure the success of the party’s e-registration exercise.
He described Wadada as a committed party man whose contributions have continued to strengthen the APC in the state.
