The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its ongoing electronic membership registration exercise to February 8, 2026, and adjusted the dates for its ward congresses and national convention.
According to a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said decision was taken at the party’s 183rd meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC), held on Friday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
According to the party, the extension of the electronic registration, earlier scheduled to end on January 31, followed requests from party stakeholders and is aimed at allowing more supporters and members to register and validate their membership.
The NWC also approved new dates for key party activities. Ward congresses will now hold nationwide on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, while the APC National Convention has been rescheduled for March 27 and 28, 2026.
However, the party announced that Osun State, Ekiti State, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will not participate in the forthcoming congresses due to upcoming elections. Rivers State was also excluded, with the party citing the subsisting tenure of the current state executive committees.
In addition, the NWC constituted the National Convention Planning Committee to oversee preparations for the convention.
The APC said further details on the revised timetable for congresses and the national convention, as well as the composition of the planning committee, will be communicated at a later date.
