First and foremost, we must be honest with ourselves and strip away sentiments, personal interests, and behind-the-scenes political noise. When this is done objectively, one name consistently stands out among all governorship aspirants in Nasarawa State to succeed Engr. Abdullahi Sule in 2027: that name is Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu.
From every angle, both in terms of experience, loyalty, political strength, and statewide acceptance, Wadada remains the most credible and dependable option for Engr. Sule and the APC.
This is not a man who appeared only when rewards became visible. Wadada stood firm when the stakes were high and the risks were real. In 2019, at a time when the APC faced serious internal challenges that could have plunged Nasarawa State into a Zamfara-style crisis, Wadada chose party stability over personal ambition. While others were busy calculating individual gains, he focused on safeguarding the party’s victory and legitimacy. That singular commitment helped stabilize the political process that ultimately brought Engr. Sule to power.
Wadada’s loyalty and sacrifice cannot, and should not, be ignored.
It was therefore no coincidence that Engr. Sule entrusted Wadada with the role of a Chairman of his Campaign Council. That appointment was strategic as it reflected trust, loyalty, and proven capacity. Wadada did not merely campaign for Engr Sule, he mobilized, reconciled competing interests, bridged internal divisions, and ensured the APC remained united and focused on winning elections in 2019.
Wadada’s contributions to Nasarawa State are evident. He understands grassroots politics. He understands governance. More importantly, he understands how to balance political realities with genuine developmental needs. This explains why his appeal cuts across APC structures, communities, and even political divides.
However the hard truth many avoid saying is that Wadada is the only aspirant with the kind of formidable strength capable of giving any challenger, within APC or from the opposition, a serious contest. He has structure. He has experience. He has a statewide reach. Above all, he has credibility built over time, not manufactured overnight.
The 2027 governorship race should not be about experimentation. It should be about continuity, stability, and winning elections convincingly. If the APC is serious about retaining Nasarawa State and consolidating Engr. Sule’s legacy, then the choice is not complicated. Wadada is the answer.
Wadada has not merely aligned himself with Engr. Sule; he has consistently worked for him, for the APC, and for Nasarawa State. Sometimes, succession is not about searching far and wide, it is about recognizing the individual who has already been doing the work. Whether one accepts it or not, Wadada’s efforts resonate with a broad segment of the electorate and command respect among Nasarawa’s political elite.
Above all, integrity will ultimately define the 2027 governorship race. As the election approaches, public attention will gradually shift beyond campaign rhetoric to the fundamental issue. The critical question will be: Among all the aspirants, who possesses the most unquestionable integrity?
Within this context, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu naturally draws attention. He remains the only aspirant whose public life, past and present, has been largely free from integrity controversy. In a political landscape where many aspirants face persistent questions about the sources of their wealth and the transparency of their records, Wadada stands apart.
Concerns about questionable income sources and unexplained affluence have become recurring themes in Nigerian politics, and Nasarawa State is no exception. While allegations do not automatically amount to guilt, the inability of many aspirants to convincingly address such concerns has fueled public skepticism.
Wadada’s supporters argue that his greatest strength lies in consistency and openness. His political journey, lifestyle, and engagement with the people have remained free from integrity-related scandals. In this regard, Wadada is increasingly seen as a benchmark against which others are measured.
In the final analysis however, Wadada stands as the best and most natural choice for Engr. Abdullahi Alhaji Sule.
