The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has been elected as the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the Nigeria APC Speakers Conference.
Dr. Jatau emerged through a consensus agreement, having been elected unopposed by Speakers of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the country. The election took place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, during the Nigeria APC Speakers Conference held at Onomo Allure AATC Hotel, Abuja.
In his acceptance speech, the Nasarawa State Speaker thanked God Almighty for the opportunity to serve and expressed deep appreciation to his colleagues for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged renewed commitment to the ideals of the Speakers Conference and promised to contribute meaningfully to national development.
He described his election by his distinguished colleagues through consensus as a moment of joy and happiness for himself, his people, and Nasarawa State, assuring that he would not take the responsibility for granted and would work hard to justify the confidence reposed in him.
The Nasarawa State number three citizen further promised to bring innovation, stability, and effective leadership that would enhance development in all ramifications within the Conference and beyond. He reiterated his gratitude to God Almighty and to his colleagues for electing him and trusting him with the responsibility, assuring that he would not disappoint.
Dr. Jatau’s emergence is seen as a significant recognition of Nasarawa State within the APC legislative leadership structure and is expected to strengthen collaboration among APC Speakers nationwide.
