Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has been honoured with the Leadership Newspaper Governor of the Year Award 2025 in recognition of his administration’s developmental strides in the state.
The award was presented to Governor Sule at the 18th Leadership Annual Conference and Awards held on Thursday at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.
Themed “Political Stability and Sustainable Development in Africa in an Increasingly Unstable Global System: A Roadmap for Nigeria,” the event brought together key stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on governance, development, and Africa’s evolving political landscape.
According to Leadership Newspaper, the award recognises Governor Sule’s track record of achievements anchored on the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS). The publication highlighted the state’s progress in industrialisation, infrastructure renewal, human capital development, improved road networks, and renewable energy initiatives, among other accomplishments.
Under the NEDS framework, Nasarawa State has pursued policies aimed at strengthening economic growth, enhancing public infrastructure, and attracting investments to boost industrial expansion.
The recognition adds to a growing list of commendations for the governor’s efforts toward positioning Nasarawa State as an emerging economic hub in the North-Central region.
