A gathering of tradition, faith, and leadership defined the 7th anniversary prayer in honour of the Emir of Lafia, Sidi Bage Mohammed, as dignitaries from across Nasarawa State converged to celebrate his reign and offer prayers for continued peace and prosperity.
Among those in attendance was Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the Magajin Dangin Lafia, who joined traditional rulers, political figures, and well-wishers at the Lafia Emirate Council for the solemn occasion.
The event served not only as a commemoration of seven years on the throne but also as a reflection on the Emir’s leadership, widely described as steady and inclusive. Over the years, his reign has been associated with efforts to promote unity, preserve cultural heritage, and foster development within the emirate and beyond.
Speaking during the gathering, Senator Wadada paid glowing tribute to the monarch, commending his wisdom, deep sense of justice, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Lafia and the wider Nasarawa community. He noted that the Emir’s leadership style has helped maintain stability while strengthening communal harmony.
The senator also offered prayers for the Emir’s continued good health, strength, and divine guidance, expressing hope that his leadership would endure for many more years.
Religious scholars at the event led special prayers, focusing on peace, unity, and national progress. Their supplications echoed a shared aspiration among attendees: that the emirate, the state, and Nigeria at large continue on a path of stability and growth.
The anniversary prayer highlighted not only the enduring relevance of traditional institutions but also their role as unifying forces in contemporary society. For many  the occasion was both a spiritual exercise and a reaffirmation of collective identity under a respected and revered leader.
