The 2026 Ezzen Cultural Day celebration, organized by the Eggon Cultural and Development Association, was marked by a significant moment as Dr. Aliyu Bello, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, was conferred with the revered traditional title of “Sadaukin Ezzen.”
The honour was bestowed in recognition of his sustained contributions to community development and his unwavering support for cultural preservation and unity among the Ezzen people.
In his remarks, Dr. Bello expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to the advancement of cultural values and grassroots development. Demonstrating this commitment, he announced a donation of ₦2 million to support Ezzen House initiatives—₦1 million from his personal funds and an additional ₦1 million on behalf of the APC. The announcement drew enthusiastic applause from attendees, who commended his dedication to promoting indigenous language and culture.
Further underscoring his philanthropic efforts, Dr. Bello, through the Aliyu Bello Educational and Charity Foundation, provided 20 NECO examination slots to orphans in the community. The initiative is aimed at improving access to education and creating opportunities for vulnerable children to secure a brighter future.
He also called on residents to remain united and continue supporting the APC-led administration in the state under Governor Abdullahi Sule, stressing that sustained public support is vital for ongoing development and stability.
The event, themed “The Role of Culture in Fostering Community Unity and Sustainable Development,” featured vibrant cultural displays, traditional rites including turbaning ceremonies, fundraising activities, awards presentations, and goodwill messages.
The Ezzen Cultural Day 2026 once again highlighted the importance of cultural heritage as a powerful tool for community cohesion and sustainable development in Nasarawa State.
