Governor Sule Intervenes in Udege Crisis, Urges Unity Among Afo, Fulani

Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi A. Sule, on Monday met with Afo and Fulani communities in Mararaba Udege following a recent outbreak of violence in parts of Nasarawa Local Government Area.
During the meeting, the governor expressed deep sorrow over what he described as a tragic and unfortunate crisis that disrupted peace in the affected communities. He sympathized with those impacted and acknowledged the tension caused by the incident.
Addressing community members, Sule urged residents to remain calm, maintain peaceful coexistence, and uphold the rule of law. He emphasized the importance of unity among the Afo and Fulani people, stressing that lasting peace is essential for development in the area.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring normalcy. He assured the communities that efforts were underway to provide relief to victims, strengthen security operations, and prevent further escalation of the crisis.
The meeting is part of ongoing interventions by the Nasarawa State Government aimed at promoting dialogue and rebuilding trust among communities affected by the recent unrest.
