NSG mourns demise of former governor

Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Barrister Muhammad Hassan Abdullahi says the government received the demise of former governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma with all sense of bereavement.
In a statement the Secretary described the death of the former governor as monumental loss not only to family members of the deceased and Doma traditional council but also to all people of the state and Nigeria in general
The statement quotes Muhammad Hassan Abdullahi as saying late Aliyu Akwe Doma will fondly be remembered for his developmental programmes in the state notably the 13 point agenda which encapsulated various areas of socio-economic development.
According to him, the former governor left indelible legacies as a dynamic leader and astute politician, adding that his pragmatic modesty, accountability, humility and dedication to service among other virtuous will be missed.
The statement prayed Allah to grant the soul of the former governor al-jannatul firdaus.
Meantime, Catholic Diocese of Lafia has commiserated with the Nasarawa state government and the entire people of the state over the demise of the former governor of the state, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma (Madaucin Doma).
A press statement made available to newsmen by the Diocesan Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Mathew Ishaya Audu, conveyed the heartfelt condolence of priests, religious, and faithful of the diocese to Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Doma community and the state over the death of the former governor.
According to Bishop Audu, Aliyu Akwe Doma has left remarkable footprints in the sands of time particularly by contributing his quota to the political, economic and socio-cultural development of Nasarawa state during his reign as the Executive Governor of the state.
While describing his demise as a huge loss to the immediate family and then entire people of Nasarawa state, Bishop Mathew Ishaya Audu prayed God to forgive his shortcoming and reward him for his hard works to humanity.
