The Chairman 2019 Nasarawa state APC Campaign Directorate, Hon Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has said that education played a prominent role in making him what he is today. Speaking at the presentation of Jamb registrations for 150 students organized by Aliyu Bello Educational Foundation in Lafia, Hon Wadada recalled how education impacted positively on his life to extend that today he is counted among political leaders of Nasarawa state. Hon Wadada who emerged second in the just concluded APC governorship primaries in Nasarawa noted that if not for education he won’t have been where he is today. While stressing the importance of education to the well-being and survival of a nation or community, Hon Wadada further observed that both Islam and Christianity places education over and above all other considerations. Hon Wadada continued: ‘As Muslims, we are all aware of Qur’anic injunction which talks about seeking knowledge about Allah before we worship him’ According to Hon Wadada, this injunction underscores the importance which Allah attaches to education. He appealed to our youth to go out and seek for education/ knowledge and posited that only through education that one can attains greatness in life. Hon Wadada who commended Hon Aliyu Bello for initiating the foundation to cater for the education of our youth, however promised to emulate the formula of Aliyu Bello Educational Foundation and incorporate it into his own foundation. Hon Wadada who said he envied Aliyu Bello for his show of concern towards advancements of youth education also donated the sum of N300, 000 to Aliyu Bello Foundation to help in education of our youth. Earlier in his remarks, Hon Aliyu Bello said he initiated the foundation some five years ago to assist the less privileged educationally. He said the foundation was involved in all forms of education assistance to all the less privileged in not only Rimi Uku but Lafia as a whole. While soliciting for support of all towards the success of the foundation, Hon Bello pledged to widen the scope of the foundation to cover the whole state with time. The ceremony was marked by symbolic presentations to some students and was witnessed by the state Chairman of the APC Chief Tatari Shekwo, the Permanent Secretary state Ministry of Education Alhaji Abdullahi Agwai among other dignitaries.
