Nasarawa State Governor-elect, Engr Abdullahi Sule, has said that his government will not in what ever circumstances interfere with Independence of judiciary in the state. Speaking while hosting leadership of Magistrate Association in Nasarawa state, the governor elect also promised to uphold all tenets of democracy for efficient and result oriented governance.
Engr Sule who appreciated the role of magistrates in the dispensation of justice and in protecting the interest of the less-privileged and vulnerable in the society also maintained that his administration would not tinker with the resources meant for the three arms of government in the state.
“My administration will tinker with the resources meant for three arms of government in the state” he said. He then promised to support magistrates association for the effective discharge of their responsibilities.
Earlier, Abdullahi Shammah, the State Chairman of the association, said the aim of the visit was to felicitate with the Governor-Elect and to seek support toward addressing challenges facing magistrates in the state.
He said some of the challenges to include mobility, security, and implementation of harmonised laws of 2018 package for magistrates, amongst others.
