The Governor of Nasarawa state Abdullahi A. Sule, has
felicitated with the people of the State on the celebration of 2019
Democracy Day. In a statement issued in Lafia signed personally by the governor himself indicated that this year democracy day marks yet another significant milestone in our
democratic journey as a people with a common destiny, and
the day also reminds us of our collective struggle for self
determination and entrenchment of democratic governance at all levels of government.
While saluting the sacrifices, perseverance and partnership, as well as
enthusiasm which informed the choice and abiding faith of the people of the state in his ability
to provide selfless leadership for the development of Nasarawa State, Gov Sule also extend his congratulations to the exemplary
President and Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to whittle down the
tremendous challenges of security of lives and property as well as
activities of Boko Haram insurgency, the Niger-Delta militancy and the
conflict between farmers and herdsmen. Gov. Sule also commended the President in his efforts at fighting
corruption, saying: ‘We will continue to support the efforts of Mr. President
towards moving Nigeria to the Next level of development’
Gov Sule who paid special tribute to
our founding fathers who through thick and thin laboured to bring
about the actualization of the creation of Nasarawa State, also noted
that some of these leaders have transited to the world beyond. ‘We must, however, endeavour to cherish the contributions of these
founding fathers and remember their sacrifices for our benefit and generations yet unborn’ Gov Sule further stressed. He expressed his immense gratitude to
the Almighty God for giving us the rare privilege to be active players
in the affairs of Nasarawa State, adding: ‘let me use this opportunity to call on the good people of Nasarawa
State to support and cooperate with the present Administration in the
state towards the implementation of lofty ideals, programmes and
policies designed for the sustainable development of our dear state’
