The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia, Prof. Sanusi Liman, in company of his management staff Saturday, paid a courtesy visit to Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in his Jos Road residence, Lafia. The delegation intimated Al-makura the decision of the council of the university to confer him with Honorary Doctorate Degree, to be presented during the university forthcoming convocation ceremony slated for this February, this year.

Barrister Yusufu Shehu, one time Commissioner of Justice/ Attorney General and later Commissioner of Information under Al-makura commended FULafia for conferring Honorary Doctorate Degree on Al-makura, describing the award as well-deserved. He noted that Al-makura had done much to the university worthy to be recognized. He listed Al-makura efforts in Infrastructural development of the university as well as his efforts in ensuring accreditation of college of medicine as some of Al-makura’s contributions to the university. He then advocated for the naming of the college of medicine of the university after Senator Al-makura.
