In an effort to complement Governor Abdullahi A. Sule administration’s drive to uplift social economic status of women in the state, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Hon. Halima Ahmadu Jabiru has expressed her Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with any organization that is ready to help the state in empowering women who are the most disadvantaged in the society. The Commissioner stated this when she received in audience, the Business Development Manager (North) of SOLAR SISTERS NIGERIA, Mrs Chinenye Anekwe in her office. Hon. Halima Jabiru who was overwhelmed with the presentation of the Solar Sisters organization however called for a collaboration between Women Affairs Ministry and the organization aimed at Empowering women in Nasarawa state. While commending the Governor of Nasarawa state Engr A. A Sule for his concern towards women empowerment, Hon Halima Jabiru assured that her ministry will do everything possible to ensure that women in Nasarawa state were not left behind.
Earlier, the Business Development Manager of Solar Sisters Mrs Anekwe said their organization specialises in train ing women in various fields of human endeavours which in turn enhance economic development of the state. She described Solar energy as universal and acceptable means of generating energy use at homes and offices, also encouraged women to explore the opportunities afforded them by solar energy to improve on their living conditions.
The Commissioner received the organization alongside the House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Women Affairs.
