Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state will engage the people of Nasarawa state on coronavirus Pandemic today, Tuesday at 4.30pm A statement issued by DG strategic communications and press affairs government house, Lafia, Malam Yakubu Lamai drew the attention of the public on the recent outbreak of Corona Virus in the Wuhan Province, Hubei in China last year and how the entire world mobilized every effort to stem the tide of infection; but we continue to watch as several cases of this disease has been reported within and outside China. The statement further recalls how Nigeria recorded her first case of Corona Virus on the 27th February, 2020 in Lagos and as at 19th March, 2020, 11 additional cases have been discovered. Today our dear country Nigeria, has a total of 42 confirmed cases and we are still counting, which clearly shows that COVID-19 is spreading fast.”Considering the urgent need to adopt preventive measures and protect the lives of all citizens of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State has conducted over 5 multi-sectorial meetings to assess the health, security, social and economic impact of COVID-19, so as to fashion out proactive measures to be adopted in Nasarawa State to protect our people.” The statement also added.It added further that the Directorate of Strategic Communication & Press Affairs hereby invite the entire citizens of Nasarawa State to listen to His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule(on Radio, Television and Live Online) from 4.15pm as he addresses our people on the status of COVID-19 and what measures the public can take to safeguard our collective livelihood.The statement then stressed that The Speech by His Excellency will be followed by an Interactive Question & Answer Session (In English and Hausa) where Media Chiefs will ask pertinent questions to extract deeper insight about the policy stance and active steps being adopted in Nasarawa State.
