COVID-19: Gov Sule Pays Unscheduled Visit To Isolation Centers

By Our Reporter

In his avowed determination to halt COVID 19, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule has undertaken a “silent inspection” of two locations, i.e., the designated Isolation Center and also the Nasarawa State Sports Academy in Akwanga.

A statement issued by DG Strategic Communications and Press Affairs, Malam Yakubu Lamai recalled that the Nasarawa Sports Academy Akwanga was established on 13th October 2005 to train young athletes in both sports and academics. The academy is a facility of 13 games whose court and pitches have been taken over by encroachers, and roofs blown off; while the buildings are decrepit and derelict.

The Governor believes that as other stadia nationwide and selected spacious complexes are being adapted by government to serve as “Isolation Centers” for victims of CORVID 19.

The Nasarawa State Sports Academy can also be revived to it’s premiere position as the only Sports Academy of it’s pedigree in the whole of West Africa; while at the same time, the academy can also serve as an Isolation center.

Engineer Sule who conducted his “silent inspection” without his normal retinue of Aides, also told a few reporters who tracked him “silently” that he remains determined to ensure the full rehabilitation of the Nasarawa Sports Academy to it’s rightful place of glory.

Although his main focus at the moment is to remain proactive and keep making adequate arrangements to contain and halt the onslaught of COVID 19, before it gets to Nasarawa State.
