NSHA Lauds Gov Sule For Massive Investment In Health Sector
Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has applauded Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the massive renovation, reconstruction and upgrade of facilities at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) Lafia.
Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, Chairman, House Committee on Health and member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency gave the commendation when he led members of the committee on an oversight visit to DASH on Wednesday in Lafia.
Labaran-Shafa equally commended the staff and management of the hospital for living up to expectations.
He said, the success wouldn’t have been achieved without the support and cooperation of the management and staff who have put their best in service to humanity and the state.
The chairman said the committee is working in synergy with the hospital towards providing quality health care services to the people, adding that the committee would continue to give the management of the hospital the necessary support its deserved.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Hassan Ikrama commended the Governor, Assembly Members, Private and Development partners for providing support to the hospital.
He added that their role towards the general development of the hospital cannot be under estimated.
The CMD appealed to members not to relent in their efforts in assisting the hospital to continue to provide effective services to the people.
Dr Ikrama conducted members of the committee round the renovated, constructed and upgraded facilities.
The facilities visited includes, National Health Insurance Scheme Pharmacy and Clinic, car park, laborstory reception, surgical ward, medical ward, central pharmacy, eye clinic, board room and casualty theatre.
He disclosed that some of the projects were sponsored by the hospital, some by the state while some by the development partners like saving one million lives.
Similarly, the committee paid similar visit to Hospital Management Board (HMB) Lafia and the chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of performance by the board in spite of the devastating effect of COVID-19 on its activities.
He encouraged the board to put more efforts to overcome challenges facing the board.
Speaking earlier,Dr George Usman Dangana the CMD of the board appreciated the assembly for working on a bill that would strengthening the activities of the board,
He appealed for more collaboration with the assembly to continue to serve the people better.
