Nasarawa state governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule on Thursday evening had fruitful engagements with officials of the United States government on issues of insecurity and its complexities.
The delegation came to Nigeria at the prompting of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and consists of senior officials handling issues of civilian security within the US state Department.
The letter inviting Engr. Sule to the event states in part, “We carefully thought about which governors would add the most value for our Washington visitors and of course, you are at the top of our list”
The embassy also noted the leadership of the governor of Nasarawa State in bringing Christian and Muslim communities together as well as working together with the governor of Benue state in managing cross border issues.
The meeting discussed the impact of violence on communities and best practices in mitigating or ending conflicts. Other governors at the meeting are those of Zamfara, and Borno.
