Nasarawa State Governor Engr.Abdullahi Sule has approved the payment of the Nasarawa State Harmonized Allowances for law officers serving in both the judicial and legislative arms of government in the state.

This was revealed when High Court of Justice appeared before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly committee on Judiciary to defend its 2021 budget at the assembly complex in Lafia today.

Those to benefit from the allowance which will commence from January 2021 include House of Assembly legal officers,lawyers from ministry of justice,magistrates and other law officers in the state.

Barrister Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali Acting Chairman of the house committee on judiciary gave the Governor a pat on the back for graciously approved the implementation of the law officers allowances in the state which is not being paid previously despite there is existing law to that effect.

Barrister Alkali (APC Lafia North)said Governor Sule is a leader that have respect for the law of the land and have the people at heart and called on all citizens in respective of affiliations to give him the necessary support to succeed.

“We as assembly we commend the Governor for this wonderful step taken and all the good things he has been doing for the good of the people of the state,that is why we have resolved as an institution to give him all the support he needs to succeed.

“We will continue to adjudicates on dispute and other lingering issues and challenges of the judicial arm for the best interest of all. He said

Hon. Alkali expressed satisfaction with their budget proposal which also captured the said allowances and called on the ministry of justice to redouble its effort in accessing funds which is necessary for improving the justice system of the state.

On his part, Ahmed Abdullahi Sani the Chief Registrar Nasarawa State High Court of justice thanked the assembly members for their support and expresses satisfaction with the budgetary allocation that was before the assembly calling for more synergy between the arms of the government for peace,progress and development of the state.

“There is an existing law in respect to harmonized allowances for all law officers in the state but the previous governments in the state did not implement it,however it is a good news now that Governor Abdullahi Sule has graciously approved the implementation of the allowances which was captured in the budget as the payment is expected to commence by January 2021.
