Nasarawa First Lady Silifat Sule Promises To Support Youths At All Times
Nasarawa State First Lady, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi A. Sule reaffirmed her resolve to support the youths to realise their potentials in the interest of development of Nasarawa state.
The First Lady made her resolve known while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Gudi Youth Progressive and Development Association week 2020 held the Sarkin Gudi Palace in Gudi Station, Akwanga Local Government on Saturday.
Silifat Sule explained that youths as vanguards of the society need all the support and empowerment to explore their God-given talents and potentials for the socio-economic growth of the state and the nation at large.
“As youth, you must shun drug abuse and all other forms of social vices such as cultism, banditry, robbery, prostitution as these have over time destroyed the future of youths prematurely”. She added
Silifat Sule while calling for unity amongst all and sundry, maintained that unity and tolerance are prerequisites for peaceful coexistence and Economic growth and development of every society.
She appreciated the youth of Gudi for the recognition accorded her as “Maman Matasan Gudi” meaning the “Mother of Gudi Youth”, pledging to always play her motherly role at all times.
Speaking earlier, President Gudi Youth Progressive and Development Association, Ezekiel Mathias observed that the strength of any community lies with the youth hence the theme of the GYPDA Week 2020 tagged “Unity begets peace and development”.
Ezekiel Mathias added that they form the association to fight against all forms of social vices and criminality in Gudi and explore areas of economic prosperity of the people of Gudi town.
The occasion was marked by presentation of certificate to the first Lady as the Mother of Gudi Youth.
