Gov Sule’s Massive Strides In Education Sector In Nasarawa

An extensive appraisal of the giant achievements of the administration of Governor Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State in the education sector in less than two years of his stewardship, presents a platform for one to acknowledge the governor’s overwhelming passion for quality education and his commitment to guarantee the future of the children as leaders of tomorrow.

The process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially in a school cannot be possible without proper planning and execution of policies that would boost education in the state.

The Governor Abdullahi A Sule led administration has so far committed 26 and 31 percents of its 2020 and 2021 budget, respectively to the education sector in compliance with UNESCO’s recommendations.

A quick perusal of the achievements of the present administration will show that,

Governor Abdullahi A, Sule has formalized the appointments of the two thousand, two hundred and fifty (2,250) teachers who were engaged by the previous administration.

Also, twenty five (25) students in the state have been awarded scholarship to study in the Zaria Academy, with another twenty (20) students of the state awarded scholarship to study higher education at the International University of Africa Sudan.

Other interventions are, payment of bursary allowances to students, upgrade of College of Agriculture Lafia to College of Agriculture, Science and Technology.

To improve the availability of technical and medical manpower in the State, Governor Abdullahi A Sule has approved the establishment of two faculties at the state University KEFFI; Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Medical Sciences.

The administration of Governor Abdullahi A Sule has also embarked on the massive constructions of classroom blocks for effective teaching and learning in Angwan Jarme, Mahanga and Mararaban Gongon in Kokona, Awe, Doma, and Wamba Local Government Areas respectively in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Massive construction and rehabilitation of Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across the state via the State Universal Basic Education Board’s Projects.

Release of funds to the Nasarawa State contingent to the International Science, Energy and Engineering Competition in Turkey 2019. The competition which the state took first position. One will deem it fit to thank our amiable Governor for sponsoring these talented pupils who made us proud at the international science competition.

Equally, the renovation of Government Girls Secondary School Garaku, as well as the Government Science School Lafia. Presently, Government Science School Lafia wears a new look. Refurbished classrooms, hostels, dining hall, administrative block and most especially its laboratories, where future doctors, engineers, nurses, technologists, among others, will be produced and who will be expected to man the industries and projects that will come onboard with a pledge to execute similar project, one science school each, across the remaining two senatorial zones.

Nasarawa State Government under the stewardship of Governor Abdullahi A Sule distributed Science and Technical Education Equipment to public and private secondary schools in the state. Equipment distributed included teaching aids for special schools as well as upkeep for 418 public secondary schools.

Nasarawa State Government through the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has procured 240 first aid boxes equipped with medical facilities for onwards delivery to secondary schools across the state.

While thanking His Excellency, Engr Abdullahi A Sule for his giant strides in education, it’s our collective prayer that the Almighty Allah will continue to protect him in good health and give him more wisdom and guidance to exceed all expectations as he continue to pilot the affairs of the state.
