Former Nigeria First Lady,Turai Yar’Adua calls on FG to Complete late husband’s e-library in Govt.College Keffi, Nasarawa State.

Former Nigeria First Lady and wife of late Presdident Umar Musa Yar’Adua , Hajiya Turai Yar’ Adua wants Federal Government to complete the e-library initiated and named after her late husband in Government Colllege, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

The former Nigeria first lady Haj.Turai Yar’adua made the appeal while playing host to the National leadership of Keffi Old Boys Association KOBA,in Abuja.

Keffi Old Boys Association ( KOBA) is an association of old boys of the premier Government College, Keffi in Nasarawa State and the school has produced prominent Nigerians such as Late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and the present Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed among many distinguished Nigerians , who have excel in life both within and outside the country.

During the regime of late President Yar’Adua and when the school marked its 50th anniversary the then serving president and an old boy of the institution, president Umar Musa Yar’Adua was in Government College, Keffi where he laid the foundation of the e-library in the school but the cool hands of death snatched the seating President away where his demise hindered the completion of the project which was named after him.

In a bid to see to the completion of the President Umar Musa Yar’Adua e-library in Government College, Keffi and also to keep in touch with one of his outstanding members family, the President General of KOBA, Engr. Edward Ujege and his national EXCOs paid a courtesy visit to the family of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in Abuja.

The wife of the late president and former first lady, Hajiya Turai Yar’Adua, who was overwhelmed with the visit said KOBA as one of the most organised old boys association in Africa need to put necessary effort in place to ensure that her late husband have a thumb of reference and remembrance in his Alma mater.

Turai Yar Adua, then made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to complete e-library which foundation was laid by her late husband in his Alma mater, Governmemt College, Keffi when he was serving as president to be a mark of honour and remembrance for him, especially that the structure was named after him Umaru Musa Yar’Adua e-library.

She commended the efforts of KOBA for remembering and identifying with the Yar’Adua’s family and assured them of support at all times.

Earlier, the President General of KOBA, Engr. Edward Ujege told the former Nigeria first lady that they were in her residence as a mark of honour , respect and to identify as well as remember the family of one of their own, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

The KOBA President General also briefed Hajiya Turai Yar’Adua of the state of e-library in Government College, Keffi named after her husband and seek for her intervention towards mobilising relevant authorities to see to its completion that will serve as a mark of honour and remembrance to the late president Yar’Adua.

On the entourage of the KOBA President General to the family of late President Yar’Adua were the KOBA National Vice President, Alhaji M.B Lawal, Secretary General, Mr Sam Israel from Nasarawa State ,the host of KOBA and Mohammed Bello from Katsina State just as highlight of the visit was presentation of gift to the former Nigeria first lady by the KOBA leadership.
