The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has supported the move for the upgrade of the state School of Nursing Lafia to College of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia in order to boost the health status of the people of the state.

Rt.Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House made this known after Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, the Chairman, House Committee on Health presented the House Standing Committee on Health Report on a Bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery and for other Matters Related Thereto.

He said that the bill if finally passed into law would improve on the general health standard of the people of the state as well as improve on manpower in the state health sector especially in the long run and create more employments in the state.

The Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi fixed 9th of this month for deliberation on the report.

” I will slate 9th of March, 2021 for deliberation on a Bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery and for other Matters Related Thereto” he said .
