Nasarawa State Government says it is supportive of the drive by the Federal Government towards empowering people of the state.Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe stated this during the celebration of sixty-fourth birthday anniversary of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the residence of the Emir of Lafia in Lafia.It was a unique way of celebrating the sixty-fourth anniversary of the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo as prayers led by the Chief Imam of Lafia, Mallam Dalhatu Dahiru and Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in the State, Arch. Bishop Joseph Masin were offered to commemorate the day.It was also an occasion to thank the presidency for giving Nasarawa state the attention it deserves as the State Deputy Governor who led some members of the State Executive Council and other top government functionaries to the ceremony showered encomiums on the Vice President whom he said is dear to the hearts of people of the State.According to him, the Vice President deserves prayers from all and sundry, calling on people of the State to extend same to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Sule for God to give them direction and more wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of the State and the Country.Speaking on behalf of Friends of Osinbajo, Stephanie Oneshi Adams said they decided to celebrate the Vice President’s birthday with the people of Lafia because of their receptive disposition, saying they came to demonstrate their love and affection by impacting on lives.Member of the house of Representative, Hafiz Kawu and his counterpart, Sarki Dahiru appreciated the Friends of Osinbajo for the honour done to the Vice President who holds the traditional tittle of Madugun Lafia, noting that he has shaped their lives in numerous ways, just as they thanked the Emir of Lafia, retired Justice Sidi Mohammed Bage for hosting the birthday celebration.The birthday celebration was not without the usual praise singing and royal displays by the Lafia Emirate council’s praise singers.
