Retired Police officers, spouses urged to enrol for NHIS
As the 2nd phase of National Health Insurance Scheme enrolment exercis e for retired police officers commences in Nasarawa State, retired Police officers and their spouses have been urged to take advantage of the laudable initiative and enroll for free.
Commissioner for Police, Nasarawa State, Bola Longe, Psc made the call in a press release signed by ASP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, a copy made available to Nasarawa Eye.
The statement said that the call became necessary as it was in line with the IGP of Police, Mohammed A. Adamu, NPM , (mni) resolve at ensuring that retired Police officers (irrespective of ranks) and their Spouses were not left out in the Force initiative of providing quality and accessible health care services through the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
Longe pointed out the exercise was graciously approved in order to avail retired Police officers that were not captured in the first phase of the exercise the opportunity to do so.
The exercise, the statement added will take place at various Police Area Commands in the State from Monday, March 22nd, 2021 – Thursday, March 25th, 2021.
“All retired Police officers including their spouses are therefore required to visit any of the Police Area Commands Close to them registration and Services provided under the scheme is absolutely at no cost and without any form of deduction from retiree`s Monthly Pension.”
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Bola Longe, psc(+) therefore enjoins all retired Police officers in the State who are yet to be captured in the Scheme, to take advantage of the opportunity and get registered”, the statement concluded.
