The National Body of Egbura Youth Advocate For Peace and Development Worldwide, popularly known as Ayikwu Egbura Onobihum(Coalition of Egbura National Youth Movement) has gave Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt.Hon.Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi a part on the back for his quality leadership in the state and his developmental strides among his people.
The National Youth body has also debunked in totality rumour making round especially in the social media that the Speaker is the brain behind the removal of an Egbura son and former Deputy Vice Chancellor DVC Administration Nasarawa State University, Keffi Professor Salaam.
Leader of the group Prince Hamisu Omaki stated this in Lafia Monday shortly after the group paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi and Hon.Usman Labaran Shafa member representing Toto/Gadabuke at the state assembly.
He said the group is non political and non religion but purely neutral Egbura Youth movement advocating for peace, unity and development of Egbura nation hence the need for their outing to associate with Egbura traditional, political and other leaders across the country.
Aside that,he emphasized that the group is also carrying out thorough research on performance of their leaders and areas that needs intervention among their people and sick for ways to address them.
“We have carried out our independent research and came to known that since the existence of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly 22years ago with its basic responsibility making laws for peace and good governance in the state and effective oversights the house has had 4 Speakers in the last 22 years with 6th assembly sessions.
“Late Hon.Musa Ateru Agyo 1st assembly passed 33 bills into law, 2nd assembly under Hon Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo passed 20 bills into law, 3rd assembly of Hon Musa Ahmed Muhammed passed 31 bills into law and still 4th assembly and 2nd tenure of Hon Musa Ahmed Muhammed passed 45 bills into law and the 5th assembly of our own Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi passed 48 bills into law which has already break the records of the previous assemblies in the state.
“And as we speak in this his second tenure of 6th assembly as at December 2020 he has already passed 40 bills into law and looking at this facts by the grace of God before the end of his tenure in 2023 the 6th assembly for sure will have the highest number of bills passed ,we are indeed proud of him as our son.
“We also have it in record that the Balarabe led 5th and 6th assembly in the state is the most peaceful with effective synergy with other arms of government especially the executive just as the present assembly is adjudged to have preformed best in terms of oversight functions.
“In Toto LG,and during the regime of Gov.Tanko Almakura, the Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi has influenced the rehabilitation of Toto-Umaisha road ,one of worst roads in the state , the people of Toto during Balarabe were able to got their traditional ruler after living for over a decade without a king,Balarabe has influence the construction of school structures in the area,
“We also want to give credit to Gov.Abdullahi Sule and Speaker Balarabe whom at this regime and presently the AZMA and Flour mills are investing heavily in Toto LG which will reduce unemployment and open up rural roads not to talk of recent installation of transformers to boast rural electrification in Toto and Gadabuke from the Governor as influenced by the Speaker .
“Security situation in Toto LG is one of the nightmare our people are faced with in the recent past but to God be the glory the effort of the present government has help greatly as our people now have a sight of relief.
“The Speaker has been providing scholarship for students and employment for women and youths on yearly basis,he has sank boreholes, installed street lights and provided speed boats to riverine communities, vehicles to individuals and groups aside employments among other interventions.
“These are part of our findings and we gave him kudos for that and urged him to keep the flag flying while calling on our people to give him the maximum support to build on the solid foundation he has put in place so far.
The group also identified some basic areas that they want the Speaker to look into and address both personally and those that he should influence through the state government.
On the issue of the change of leadership in Nasarawa State University Keffi, the group said it has carried out its investigation and got the fact that Professor Salaam, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration has completed his mandatory 2 years tenure before the VC appointed a new person to the position not that he was sack and the development has nothing to do with the Speaker .
The group therefore called on the public especially Egbura sons and daughters to disregard such misleading information and also advised initiators of such fake news on social media to be on the guide, verify information before circulating in the interest of peace, unity and development.
