Out Of N700m Allocated To Us In 2021 Budget Only N75m Released To Us- SSA, SDG

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals and Development Partners. Murtala Abubakar Mohammad has said, out of over 700 Million naira approved to the SDGs for the capital expenditure for 2021 Fiscal year, only 75 Million naira was released to the agency.
According to SSA this included 11Million naira of the brought forward of 2020 Budget.
Murtala maintained that, the period under reviewed the agency has embarked on various micro projects, which according to him includes, renovation of Boys and Females Hostels Sport academic at Akwanga, provision of Solar Powered Security Light at State Secretariat, Bureau for Public Procurement, Government House phase 1 and 2 respectively.
Equally, the SSA said, the agency has also provided Solar power light at the General Hospitals across the 13 Local Government Area in the state.
He explained that, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs has also constructed two Primary Health Care in the state one in Shabu and one in Adogyi Lafia LGA.
Murtala maintained that, SDGs is no longer receiving intervention from World Bank or Federal Government to embark on project, but assist in form of support to other line ministries and other agencies in implementing their programmes for the betterment of the people in the state
Apart from micro projects embarked by the agency, the SSA to the Governor on SDGs affirmed that, through the effort of Governor Abdullahi A.Sule for providing social protection to the vulnerable groups in the state, the state has been selected to be a hub for the North Central Zone for Acceleration/Innovation, to provide social safety nets to the vulnerable in order to achieve SDGs Goals by 2030. Even as he said, the SDGs will organise youth submit on Transforming Food System in order to make youth embrace agricultural activities.
Earlier, the Chairman Committee on Planning, Budget and SDGs, Hon. Mohammad Alkali Muluku, who is a member representing Nasarawa Eggon East, called on the SDGs management to brace up on their responsibilities to provide projects that would touch the lives of the people in the state, especially rural dwellers, just as he called on the management of the organization to liaise with the committee on Planning, Budget and SDGs when facing challenges so as to support the agency for overall interest of the state.
