World Bank Laud Former CSDA boss, Maiwada

The World Bank has honoured the former general Manager of Nasarawa State’s Community Social Development Agency (CSDA), Alhaji Idris Mamman Maiwada with a ‘lifetime award of excellence’. The award which was given through the Federal Ministry of Social Development and Humanitarian Services is for his achievements in the fight against poverty and community development services through the World bank-assisted community and social development projects he executed in Nasarawa State as boss of the state’s CSDA.

Maiwada had previously worked as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Nasarawa State programme monitoring adviser in 1998 when the state was still in its infancy . Many rural and community development projects were executed at this time, among them, skills development centres, agricultural and rural health projects including HIV/AIDs prevention and control strategies. These were in addition to job creation and micro-credit financing in rural communities, including human development projects, water schemes, education and conflict prevention/resolution and management mechanisms in the state. He was also Nasarawa State’s New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Coordinator, piloting the first nationwide ‘Nigeria Country Review Mechanism’, putting the state through the process and working with nine ministries in outreach programmes and projects in the state among many other activities, for the girl-child education, support and strategies.

He supported Population activities as the state focal point officer for UNDP in the state and also carried out election monitoring assignments, heading state observer groups/ teams for the conduct of the state’s General Elections for NEPAD, EU,UNDP, INEC and many other international organizations coming to Nasarawa state. Between 2014 and January 2020, Alhaji Maiwada was General Manager of the state’s World Bank sssisted CSDA.
He is currently the Managing Director (Agricultural Division) of a business conglomerate, AH 80 Global services Limited, based in Abuja.
A reception for the award was held recently in his honour by the Keffi Peoples Forum,an umbrella organisation of all associations in Keffi chaired by Muazu Ishaq. He was also received in audience by the Keffi Emirate Investment Forum headed by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, in presence of other dignitaries.

Alhaji Maiwada expressed appreciation for the award and all those who honoured him accordingly. He added that he was ready to serve the state in whatever capacity and to make his wealth of experience over the years available for the development of Nasarawa state.
