The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Baba Alkali has doled out N22.7 million to families of 15 policemen who died in active service while serving in the Nasarawa Police Command. The beneficiaries cut across all states of the federation and it was under the IGP Group Life Assurance scheme.
According to the public relations officer of the state’s police command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, apart from supporting the families of deceased Police officers who died in active service, the scheme “is also aimed at boosting the morale of all police officers in the country in order to spur them to do more in protecting the territorial integrity of Nigeria thereby, reclaiming public space from criminal elements as their welfare is of outmost importance to the current administration of the Force. The money was given to the benefitting families by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.
CP Adesina while thanking the IGP for his efforts towards ensuring an enduring welfare for all police personnel, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money to ameliorate the needs of the deceased’s dependants. The beneficiaries on their part thanked the IGP for his kind gesture and promised to make good use of the money
