Speaker Balarabe, Emir Of Lafia Harps On Peace, Unity As 500 Housing Juma’at Mosque commissioned

The New Central Juma’at Mosque in 500 Housing Estate, Doma Road , Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital was today unveiled.

Speaking during the unveiling , the Emir of Lafia, Rtd Justice Mohammed Sidi Bage harped on peace and unity among people for development and harmonious co-existence to thrive.

” There must be unity among Muslim Ummah, we must come together , we must congregate to worship and in order to get a central message of love, peace and unity.

” Considering the importance of unity and peace to human and societal development,” the emir said.

The First Class Traditional Ruler and Chairman Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs appreciated the civil servants in the estate and those who contributed in one way or the other to the realisation of the mosque.

He prayed God to bless them abundantly.

The emir also called on Muslims to continue to contribute positively to the development of their religious for the betterment of the society.

Also speaking, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi underscored the role of peace, unity and oneness among people staying in one area as enormous, hence the need for peaceful co-existence.

The speaker, who was represented by Hon Mohammed Adamu Omadefu, member representing Keana Constituency at the state legislature called on the people to continue to contribute positively to the growth of the religion activities.

“We have gathered here today to congregate, worship and recieve blessings from Allah.

“The importance of this occasion cannot be overemphsized as the essence of unity to achieving peace in every community is paramount.

” We most sustain peace and unity among us at all times irrespective of our differences ” the speaker said.

On their parts, Chairman, Muslim Ummah Development Association of 500 Housing Estate, Iliyasu Yusuf who is the General Manager Nasarawa State Environmental Protection Agency and Abdullahi Liman Gabas, who led the two raka’at Juma’at prayers emphasized on the benefits derivable from individual and groups efforts in building the House of God ( Mosque) and called on people not to relent in that direction.

Speaking in an interview, the New Imam of the 500 Housing Estate Juma’at Mosque Lafia, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Adeka (Rtd) a Cyber Crime Expert speaks on the efforts of security operatives in tackling the activities of bandits, kidnappers and other forms of terrorism.

He called on government to do more by caging the sponsors of all forms of insecurity in the country.

” What we are doing we are not fighting the conventional war, we are fighting a terrorist war.

” A terrorist war is not a war where the enemies are identified,you will not know them, they will strike and run away.

” What I will advice is that intelligence should be the leading light of every security operation.

” I will advise those in- charge of security management to make sure that all their operations are intelligent driven so that the collateral will be minimal and the enemies will find it more tough.

” Secondly, it is not enough to chase the foot soldiers (criminals) living their sponsors because the foot solidiers need resources and these resources are provided by the sponsors.

” So those providing these weapons and supporting to maintain these weapons and ammunition with resources including cash, government should make all efforts to get them identified and cage them. It will be more effective than chasing the criminals while their sponsors are there providing more support

“if you killed 1000 bandits or terrorists is not good to be as effective as caging 10 sponsors of terrorism, Rtd General Adeka said.

Adeka has commended the military and other security agencies in combating crime in the country.

” The military is doing the best it can, given the limited resources at its disposal supported by other security agencies,” he said.

The Islamic Scholar has assured of his determination to preach the message of unity, peace and oneness to its followers for the overall development of the area, the State and the country at large .
