
Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has attended the burial ceremony of the late Alhaji Bala Tafida.
The late Alhaji Bala Tafida, until his demise last night, was the head of the economics department at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Shortly after the burial ceremony, Engineer Sule paid a condolence visit at the palace of the Emir of Nasarawa HRH Alhaji Usman Jibrin.
Citing relevant verses of the holy Qur’an, the Governor condoled with the Nasarawa emirate council over the loss.
He urged the people to accept the death of the prominent politician cum university lecturer in good faith, as according to him, only God gives and takes life.
Engineer Sule harped on the transitory nature of life, recalling how barely a day to his death, the late Tafida had planned to accompany the Governor to Lafia for an event.
He described the passage of the late Tafida, as a great loss not only to Nasarawa Local Government Area but the state entirely.
Engineer Sule prayed for Allah to forgive the departed and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
Responding, the Emir of Nasarawa, HRH Alhaji Usman Jibrin, narrated how they tried to save the life of the deceased but that he had to respond to the call of the almighty God.
While lamenting the loss, the royal father however took succour in the fact that the late Bala Tafida led a fruitful life as even before he died, he was preoccupied with how to reach out to the less privileged members of the society.
The Emir used the opportunity to call on the people to see the death of the former university lecturer as a lesson and to devout their time to the worship of God and leading exemplary lifestyles.
