The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) held its Governorship Primary to elect candidate that will fly the flag of the party in Nasarawa State for the 2023 general election yesterday. The election saw the emergence of Alhaji Abdullahi Yakubu Maidoya as NNPP Governorship candidate in Nasarawa state.

The exercise which was held at the point event center Lafia, had delegates from across the (13) thirteen Local Government Council who casted their votes peacefully without any rancor.

Alh. Abdullahi Yakubu Maidoya polled 347 out of the 348 votes casted and returned unopposed as NNPP Governorship candidate in Nasarawa State.

In his acceptance speech, Alh. Abdullahi Yakubu Maidoya appreciated the support and decision of delegates who have collectively voted him, saying he will never let them down. He promised to do everything possible to defeat other candidates from different political parties in the state come 2023 general election.

A certificate of return was later presented to him with thunderous applause from party stalwarts, supporters and well wishers.
