Gov Sule Honour With Award As Most Outstanding Governor In Care and Support For Aged/ Retirees

Retirees who gathered in Abuja under the auspices of THE FOUNDATION FOR THE CARE, SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY FOR THE AGED AND RETIREES IN NIGERIA (FCSAAR) have honoured the scale of vision of Engr Abdullahi A. Sule for his prompt payment of pensions and gratuity in Nasarawa State and urged him to spread the gospel of his good work all across Nigeria, so that other state governors can emulate him.

According to a statement signed by Director General Strategic Communication and Event Management in the office of the governor, Malam Yakubu Lamai indicated the FCSAAR wondered why most states in Nigeria refuse to accept the fact that pensions and gratuity were rights of retirees, who are now aged and elderly, while commending Governor Sule for paying pensions on first-come, first serve basis.

Barrister Noah Ataboh revealed that the foundation unanimously decided to honour Engr Abdullahi A. Sule with the humanitarian award of “MOST OUTSTANDING GOVERNOR IN THE CARE AND SUPPORT OF THE AGED/RETIREES IN NGERIA for his compassion and prompt payment of the entitlements of pensioners.

Engr Abdullahi A. Sule who was represented by DG Strategic Communications, Yakubu Lamai revealed that four years ago on 30th November 2018, (when he was a candidate,) Engr Sule had declared to NASARAWA EYE Newspaper, that if he wins the 2019 elections, he will like to be remembered for his efforts to foster peace, strengthen unity, create opportunities and ensure security and support for retirees with the prompt payment of their pension and gratuity

Lamai added that since May 29th 2019, when Engr A. A. halted the percentage payment of pensions, the Governor has made it a cardinal principle of his administration to work very hard to generate revenue in order to compensate retirees and to ensure transparency, the Governor recently converted the former PRO of the Pensions Union, Abdullahi Adokwe to become his Senior Special Assistant on Pension Matters.
