The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered the ban on sale and unauthorized use of fireworks (knockouts or Banger, Agaba and Nnabor ) in Nasarawa State.

A press statement issued in Lafia and signed by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel said the ban is in line with the provisions of the law and seeks to prevent incidents of fire outbreaks, injuries, public disturbances and other criminal activities often associated with these items.

The statement stressed that the Commissioner of Police, therefore, warns dealers and users of knockouts to desist forthwith,  urging parents/guardians to discourage their children and wards from buying and igniting fireworks as anyone caught would be made to face the full weight of the law.
