Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Senator Godiya Akwashiki, describing the late lawmaker as a committed patriot whose service to Nasarawa State and the nation will not be forgotten.

In a condolence message released on behalf of himself and the good people of Nasarawa West, Senator Wadada extended his heartfelt sympathies to Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, the Eggon Nation, and the family of the deceased, noting that the loss has left a profound void in the political and social landscape of the state.

According to him, Senator Akwashiki, who represented the Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone, was a devoted public servant whose years in public office were marked by dedication to good governance, community development, and the welfare of his constituents. He emphasized that the late senator’s passion for unity and progress was evident throughout his political career.

“His contributions to governance and community development will remain indelible,” Wadada stated, adding that Akwashiki’s wise counsel and commitment to service earned him respect across political and ethnic divides.

The senator further noted that the death of Akwashiki is not only a painful loss to his immediate family and the Eggon Nation, but also to Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large, describing him as a leader who stood firmly for service, unity, and the advancement of his people.

Senator Wadada prayed for strength and comfort for Governor Sule, the bereaved family, the Eggon Nation, and the people of Nasarawa State during this period of mourning. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late senator’s soul.
“May Almighty God grant us all the fortitude to bear this great and irreparable loss, and may the gentle soul of Senator Godiya Akwashiki rest in perfect peace,” he said.
