All Progressives Congress Holds State Congress in Nasarawa State, Returns Officials by Consensus

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State on Tuesday concluded its state congress with the adoption of a consensus list, returning party executives to steer its affairs for the next tenure.
The congress, held amid party faithful and stakeholders from across the 13 local government areas, affirmed the emergence of the state executive committee through consensus, a move party leaders described as a demonstration of unity and internal cohesion.
At the end of the exercise, Hon. Aliyu Bello, PhD (Lafia LGA) was returned as State Chairman, while Hon. Kunda Jatau Kunda (Wamba LGA) emerged as Deputy Chairman. Yairus G. Dagusa, MNI (Toto LGA) was also returned as State Secretary.
Other key officials on the consensus list include Umar Salihu Osadima (Awe LGA) as Assistant Secretary; Mohammed D. Ayitogo (Keana LGA) as Vice Chairman South; Suleiman Maiyaki (Akwanga LGA) as Vice Chairman North; and Isiah K. Agah (Nasarawa LGA) as Vice Chairman West.
The congress further returned Barr. Ogboshi T. Ogu (Doma LGA) as Legal Adviser, alongside Alh. Shehu Yamusa (Nasarawa Eggon LGA) as Assistant Legal Adviser. Fatimah Ahmed Abubakar (Karu LGA) was affirmed as Treasurer, with Muh’d Shuaibu Mai Awe (Awe LGA) as Assistant Treasurer.
Also on the list are Hon. Hamisu Ali Abbas (Nasarawa Eggon LGA) as Financial Secretary and Shuaibu Ahmed (Toto LGA) as Assistant Financial Secretary. Barr. Hassan I. Abubakar (Akwanga LGA) and Jacob Achagh (Keana LGA) emerged as Organizing Secretary and Assistant Organizing Secretary respectively.
In the publicity directorate, Luka Simon (Obi LGA) was returned as Publicity Secretary, while Augustine Ogaba emerged as Assistant Publicity Secretary.
For welfare and oversight roles, Rabo Ahmed (Keffi LGA) was returned as Welfare Secretary, assisted by Hajiya Rahinatu Aliyu (Lafia LGA). Murtala Usman Danmadami (Toto LGA) and Umar Gombe (Nasarawa Eggon LGA) were affirmed as Auditor and Assistant Auditor respectively.
The women and youth wings were also filled through consensus. Blessing Habu Ibrahim (Nasarawa Eggon LGA) emerged as Women Leader, with Hajiya Hauwa Hassan (Nasarawa LGA) as Assistant Women Leader. Abdullahi A. Moh’d (Lafia LGA) was returned as Youth Leader, supported by Yusuf Yunusa Baduku (Toto LGA) and other zonal youth leaders.
Additionally, zonal and special leadership positions were filled, including Joshua Ortaveh Ngimshio (Obi LGA) as Special (Physically Challenged) Leader, alongside assistant women and youth leaders across the North, West and South zones.
Four Ex-Officio members — Murtala Salisu (Lafia LGA), Hannatu Sunday (Akwanga LGA), Lawal Ahmed Nata’ala (Keffi LGA) and Alhaji Salisu Bagaji (Karu LGA) — were also adopted by consensus.
Party stakeholders at the congress commended members for embracing consensus, describing the process as peaceful and reflective of the unity within the APC in Nasarawa State.
The newly returned executives are expected to consolidate party structures across the state ahead of forthcoming 2027 elections.
